Pets are thought to be descendants of wild wolves. Ancient guy most likely brought home cub wolves to raise as animals. One of the earliest recognized type of dogs is the Salukis, which were bred by Egyptians thousands of years ago as searching pet dogs.Regardless of which type of dog you pick- big, little, smooth haired, shaggy, fast, slow, playful or dignified, canines make fantastic companions. In the United States, one out of 3 families owns one or more pet dogs. Many pets live anywhere from eight to fifteen years. When pets are one year old, they are as physically fully grown as a 15 year old human.
